Safety Conversations
Help identify possible safety improvements. For example, ask:
Hello (name), how are you today? What are you working on? Can you please explain what is required to do your job safely? How do you think your job can be made safer?
Share what you observed with the colleague.
Provide positive feedback where you see good practices.
Engage them in discussing possible safety improvements.

Work Safety
FIRST STEP: Set an example Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the area being visited.
Questions: How is work safety being managed at this site? How do we prevent slips, trips and falls at this site? How do we prevent injuries from manual handling (for example, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling)? How are cuts and injuries from knives and other sharps prevented? How do we prevent injuries from vehicles, tools and equipment? How do we manage waste safely at this site?

Food Safety
FIRST STEP: Set an example Wear appropriate hair restraint, white coat and slip-resistant shoes. Wash your hands upon entering the kitchen.
Questions: How is food safety being managed at this site? How do you prevent food contamination from foreign objects, from inadequate temperature control, and from human illness? How do you prevent food contamination when receiving and storing food? How do you prevent food contamination when preparing food? How do you prevent food contamination when serving and displaying food?
